

This devblog will concentrate on animations that come with the starter projects and other animations in the Unreal store. I will show how to make it so that my Daz3D figure can use any animation that was built for the “Epic” Skeleton as well as any of the Mixamo animations.


I will not be creating my own keyframes or using keymorph based animations - at least not today. I’ll be using bone rigs with previously created animations. Like skinning a cat, there’s more than 1 way to create animations in Unreal Engine. Now that I’ve done that, I’m now going to animate it. One of the first challenges I overcame was importing a Daz3D model into Unreal Engine. And I’ve mentioned before, I’m also using Daz3D to create characters.
